Physical Examinations: Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the Activities office before the student is authorized to participate in practice or tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and turned in to the Activities office no later than 3 school days prior to the first day of practice or tryouts. Physicals are valid for 13 months from the date of the last exam. Athletic Fees: All students in grades 7-12 participating in extra-curricular activities (cross country, football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, track, etc.) must pay a $45.00 fee per activity, with a maximum of $90.00 per year per participant and a family cap of $180.00 per year. Families who qualify for free and reduced meals and have a current application on file are exempt.

Youth Club Athletic Programs offer a variety of opportunities for our 4K - 8th Grade YOUTH to participate on teams that support our MS & HS Athletic Programs! Physicals do not apply. Club athletic fees are independent of the district's athletic fees. Participation cost and fee accomodations are up to the discretion of the club hosting the team. Club teams are typically led by volunteer coaches under the guidance of the High School Head Coach of that sport. All parents and community members are encouraged to volunteer coach! A Volunteer Coach at Shell Lake Schools must have the following forms updated annually: Volunteer Contact Sheet; Passed the Criminal Background Investigation, Complete the Concussion in Sports Online Training, and be approved by the HS Head Coach of the sport being played.
